2012 Bowman Chrome is pretty much identical to the regular Bowman from this year, except all in chrome or course! The standard sized cards feature a full color action shot of the named player. The card fronts have a graphic that frames the player shot. The graphic is trimmed in the team’s primary color. The set name, player name and position are centered in the graphic. The team logo is also on the card fronts. The card backs are all horizontal in layout and photo-less. The backs list moderate biographical information, moderate career highlights, last season and career statistics. The card backs are also trimmed in the team’s primary color.

What I pulled:
72 unique cards
61 base set cards = 61/220 = 28% of the base set
5 refractors
5 other inserts and parallels
1 autograph

For over 60 years, Bowman has been the go-to brand for collectors who follow the game’s top Rookies and Prospects. Bowman is the Home of the Rookie Card! The 2012 Bowman Chrome edition features Bryce Harper and Yu Darvish. The shot selection is outstanding and this product is a prospector’s dream! Not overly laden with inserts, 2012 Bowman offers just enough to keep the master set collectors happy while chasing cards. The autograph is on-card and really looks sharp! The chrome cards of course show signs of the ‘chrome curl’, but overall the design and quality of 2012 is top notch!

The Bottom Line:
I give 2012 Bowman a shop around rating. You will need a few boxes to complete the base set. Buy the singles you want or shop for the best price on boxes. Prospectors will get the most from this product. Buy a box and trade your Tigers cards to me!

The Final Score:
Final Ratings (Out of 10):
Base set collect-ability: 3/10
Big-hit Hunter: 5/10
Prospector Hunter: 10
Value: 9/10
Overall Quality: 9/10

Overall: 36/50 (72% = C)
